Simulated Emergency Test

Are you interested in amateur radio? Think ham radio is just a hobby?  Whether you are already a licensed amateur radio operator or have thought about learning more about ham radio or are just curious, mark your calendar for Saturday October 13th!  You can see amateur radio in action!  Local amateur radio clubs North Florida Amateur Radio Club and Gainesville Amateur Radio Society are coordinating with local public service agencies, Alachua County Fire Rescue and Alachua County Emergency Management Center to conduct a Simulated Emergency Test.  Simulated Emergency Tests are conducted at various times in October throughout the U.S. and Canada.  Simulated Emergency Tests aim to improve the ability of local amateur radio clubs to work in conjunction with public agencies and non-government organizations like the Red Cross and Salvation Army in providing effective, professional, and reliable emergency communications support.  There are multiple participating locations in our area one of which is here at Santa Fe College.  Come join us on Saturday October 13th at 8:30am in the grass area across the parking lot road north of Building O.
