The deadline to register to vote in the upcoming election is October 9. There are a number of ways you can register, including online. Registration information is available on the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections website at www.votealachua.com/Voters/Register-to-Vote-or-Update-Registration.
Among the items you’ll find on this year’s ballot is the Half-Cent Sales Tax to improve Alachua County’s school facilities. If this item is approved by voters, the revenues will be dedicated to revitalizing our local classrooms and schools, creating a high-quality learning environment for all students. A list of proposed projects by school is available on the district’s website at: http://bit.ly/2OyTaA7
This year’s ballot will be a long one. You’ll find the Half Cent item near the end of the ballot and the back page, although the exact location will vary depending on where you live. You can view a sample ballot for your area at: www.votealachua.com/Elections/Sample-Ballots. Ballots in Spanish are also available on that site.
