As we approach the one-year mark, Broward County is slowly moving through the grieving process of the tragedy that occurred on February 14, 2018. We are honoring those we lost with a day focused on service and love. It is also a day to recognize the recovery and strength of our staff, students and families.
Broward County Public Schools invites the entire district, community-at-large and beyond, to participate in “A Day of Service and Love” and to observe a moment of silence at 10:17 a.m. We welcome your participation and want to take some time to acknowledge those students that are at colleges and universities and were present and still a part of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas family.
We are encouraging our higher education partners to reach out to the students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas and other Broward county schools and offer them resources and support as this day and week may re-ignite feelings related to the tragedy. We welcome anyone to attend and be a part of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Commemoration community events, for more information visit cityofparkalnd.org orbrowardschools.com.
