City residents who wish to vote in the 2019 City of Gainesville Regular Election need to be registered to vote by tomorrow.
Registered voters who reside within Gainesville’s city limits are able to vote in this election, which will be held March 19. The following seats on Gainesville’s City Commission are up for election: Mayor and District 4.
All city voters will be eligible to vote in the mayoral race. Only voters who live in District 4 will be able to vote in both races. A detailed map of all City of Gainesville Commission districts can be found athttps://goo.gl/8Eeg24.
Previously registered voters are encouraged to verify and update their voter registrations. This can be done athttps://www.votealachua.com/My-Registration-Status or by calling 352-374-5252.
There are numerous ways for prospective voters to register:
- Online: The online voter registration portal — found at RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov — is a safe and secure option for voter registration.
- In person: The Alachua County Supervisor of Elections’ office, located in Gainesville at 515 N. Main St., Suite 300, is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Registrations can also be completed and turned in at any Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles office or Alachua County Library District branch. All Alachua County Library District branches are closed Feb. 18.
- After hours: The Alachua County Supervisor of Elections’ office has a white after-hours drop box outside its main entrance. Completed forms received through the drop box by 11:59 p.m. Feb. 19 will be accepted.
- By mail: Forms are available online at VoteAlachua.com. Mailed forms must be completed and postmarked by the Feb. 19 deadline.
