South Africa is a country rich in colonial history, tribal culture, and innovation. Before it was known as the Rainbow Nation, South Africa was known for its policy of Apartheid (segregation) that continued until the 90’s after decades of civil protest. Apartheid and Ubuntu This event will include a presentation and discussion with Professor Alpheus Mautjana, PhD. Dr. Mautjana grew up in the Limpopo Province of South Africa and experienced Apartheid first hand. Images and topics covered will include a brief history of South Africa and Apartheid, geography, culture, and Dr. Mautjana’s experiences with such.
